Control Our Junk was formulated and came into existance mid-2005. Boredom allowed one thing to lead to another and we remembered we had a few servos and a controller board laying around. Originally, COJ featured an Internet controlled train track, which got more than its fair share of use. We have now moved onto new projects, due to worn out hardware, but not before gaining the attention of millions of visitors. COJ has been featured on large tech sites such as Slashdot and Digg. Control Our Junk currently allows Internet users to control a robotic arm, a remote controlled car, a custom built pan/tilt webcam, and lights in multiple rooms of the house. More projects are planned and the future looks bright for Control Our Junk.

Meet the Team - Eric Barch
I've always been interested in tinkering with electronics and experimenting with computers. Since a young age, computers have fascinated me and I continue to learn new things every day. I am a programmer, web designer, electronic enthusiast, free runner, music composer, skateboarder, snowboarder, caffiene addict, and lover of shiny gadgets. I write the majority of the code for the Control Our Junk website (HTML/CSS/JS) as well as work on the backend code (PHP) for driving the chat system and servo controls.Meet the Team - Ben Barch
With a Computer Science background, but deciding not to go into the field for a real job, most of my computer skills are focused on fun projects like Control Our Junk. It's much more rewarding working on your own stuff. My main focus at COJ is figuring out how to physically link the real world objects to the computer such as building the RS232 circuit board and making the servo host board that make up the interaction. Oh yeah, I also pay for the server to host our site. It's been tough finding time this past year as I am building a home, but it is almost done and now we can expand COJ into a second house for internet controlled chaos.
